World’s Tallest Climbing Wall
Do you know where to find the world’s tallest climbing wall?
Bruno, Hanna, and Donald recently set out to find the world’s tallest artificial climbing wall* and they made a video about it! Check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments.
The Guinness Book of World Records awarded BaseCamp Climbing Gym, part of the Whitney Peak Hotel, in Reno, Nevada USA the designation of the World’s Tallest Artificial Climbing Wall.
The multi-pitch wall sits right above the famous Reno arch and has definitely changed the face of the Biggest Little City on Earth with its killer lines. Coming in at 164ft, the wall requires very skilled route setters with very careful hands to set routes while hanging off of the side of a building.
Yes, you read that correctly. While the average climbing gym boasts walls of 30-60ft, the wall at BaseCamp stands at almost three times that size.
Reno is surrounded by 360 degrees of beautiful climbing terrain, so the endurance needed to get to the top will be worth it for the view.
*While there is technically a taller wall in Europe, it is not open to the public nor is it something the average person can climb–at the time of writing it was set at a grade of 5.14. With that in mind, we found the tallest wall according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
